Luma Island je dobrodružná farmárska hra s prvkami craftingu a simulácie života. Na ostrove objavuješ okolité prostredie, pestuješ plodiny, chytáš ryby, ťažíš suroviny, vyrábaš predmety, riešiš hádanky a plníš úlohy. Súčasťou hry je aj chov magických tvorov Lumas.
Hra podporuje sólo hranie aj online co-op pre jedného až štyroch hráčov. Vybrať si možno z režimov Cozy, Adventure a Hero, ktoré upravujú náročnosť a celkové tempo hry.
